Over the past 50 years, YK Communications has been locally owned and operated by the Young family in Ganado, Texas. In that time, the company has grown from a small telephone service provider to a full-scale communications company. In the late 1990’s, company owners Raymond Young, Royce Young, and Paula Young Kacer felt that, due to their business venture successes, they wanted to share that success with the communities they serve. On October 24, 2000, The Young Family Foundation was established as a means to do just that.
The Young Family Foundation encourages local organizations to submit a grant application now to be considered for 2018 grants. For more information and the grant application, visit

YK Communications proudly supports the communities we serve in a variety of ways. This support ranges from providing jobs with competitive salaries and benefits in rural areas to donating needed goods and services to our local schools.
YK Communications is an active member of the Jackson County, Louise/Hillje, and El Campo Chamber of Commerce. Not only do we keep an active membership, but we have representation on these various boards in order to provide input on economic growth within our communities. We also support the local chapters of the American Cancer Society through corporate sponsorships and team participation in the Relay for Life events. Other groups and organizations that benefit from our corporate sponsorships and the donation of goods or services include: Little League teams, youth football leagues, volunteer fire departments, 4-H clubs, hospice, Helping Hands, Rotary Clubs, Lions Clubs, American Legion, and local animal shelters. Many of YK Communications staff members are active members in these organizations. The youth of our communities is one category that receives particular support from YK Communications. Because our service area is in a heavily agricultural region, we donate generously to the county youth fairs and rodeos through corporate sponsorship, auction purchases, and vendor booths. This helps educate our youth and prepare them to thrive economically in these rural areas. We also contribute regularly to our local schools through donations, sponsorships, and participation that benefits the following:
