At YK Communications, we’re fans of all things streaming. Especially when it’s done over our high speed internet. One of the most popular streamers is the Roku device, and we carry them in our showroom located in Ganado, TX. The brand offers TVs, players, and sticks.

Download the app.

Both Android and iOS have Roku apps ready to download and make you experience that much easier. Can’t find or reach your remote? No problem! The Roku app makes any mobile device a handy network-connected remote control.

You can also search channels, movies, shows, and make edits to your profile to manage your Roku account.

Rearrange channels on the home screen.

From your Roku home screen, move the selector over the channel you wish to move. Press the * button on your Roku remote, and select the “Move” option from the menu that appears. This will give you the option to shuffle your channels and apps around so all your favorites are on top.

Clean up the menu.

 If you’d rather not have the clutter that Fandango’s movie and television stores add to your Roku menu, you can hide those options. Head over to “Settings,” select “Home screen,” then “Movie Store and TV Store,” and select “Hide.”

Take advantage of free content.

For many people, the decision to stream is paired with “cutting the cord” and dropping cable service providers in order to save money. If you’re all about saving, you certainly do not want to skip over the free channels and content available to you through your Roku device.

Free channels include The Roku Channel, Pluto TV, Sony Crackle, and Tubi. Watch free shows and movies - how cool is that? The Featured Free section also… you guessed it… features free content available for streaming. If you have a Roku device with voice controls, you can try saying “free sci-fi movies” or “free documentaries” to see a list of available content.

Follow your favorites.

Under the “My Feed” section of the home screen, you can follow specific actors, titles, shows, movies, or directors. Get notified when content is available, like new releases, and learn when their are price drops on content you’ve followed.

Search for any of those topics, then select “Follow On Roku.” It’s that simple.
