A Christmas Story
Can you provide a brief synopsis of the film?
This kid Ralphie wants a Red Ryder airsoft gun and through the whole movie, he tries to convince his parents with begging and an awesome essay he wrote for school on why it'll be a good gift to get one for Christmas, but is always denied because, "You'll shoot your eye, son.” On top of that, he keeps getting bullied and well, no one likes to be bullied — that's just wrong. At the end he finally stands up to the bully by literally beating the snot out of him and he becomes a hero by his friends and his little brother. Plus, he gets his gun and what do you know? He shoots his glasses off of his face. It’s a 15/10 If you ask me.
What makes this movie so special to you?
This movie is something I've watched with my brothers for the longest time. It's relative to all families. And at the end of the day, holidays are always about family.

A Christmas Carol
Can you provide a brief synopsis of the film?
A Christmas Carol was written by Charles Dickens in 1843 and is about a mean-spirited and selfish old man, Ebenezer Scrooge, who hates Christmas.
One particular cold Christmas Eve, Scrooge was mean and hateful to everyone he came in contact with, the people who worked for him, the one who asked him to donate to charity, and he was extremely rude to his nephew, Fred, who asked him to spend Christmas with him.
Later that evening, when he was at home in bed, Scrooge was visited by the ghost of his old business partner, Jacob Marley and the spirits of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas Yet to Come.
The Spirit of Christmas past takes Scrooge back in time to see himself as an unhappy child that grew into a man more in love with money than anything else.
The Spirit of Christmas Present showed Scrooge the home of his employee, Bob Cratchit and his family. The youngest member of the family is Tiny Tim who is very ill, but a sweet, happy child inspite of his illness. Scrooge had not treated Bob Cratchit well and paid him very little for the work he performed for Scrooge. The Cratchit family was very poor and had little food to eat.
The Spirit of Christmas Yet to Come took Scrooge on a journey and showed him how his mean behavior has affected those around him and even showed him visions of his own death, including a grave and headstone with his name on it.
Ebenezer Scrooge woke up on Christmas morning a changed man. He had been transformed into a generous and kind-hearted human being. He was excited and ran out and bought the biggest turkey he could find for the Cratchit family and spent the entire day with his nephew, full of joy and Christmas spirit.
What makes this movie so special to you?
I love this movie because it’s a story of an unhappy, selfish, mean-spirited man who had the ability to see how his behavior had affected those around him and he made the choice to change into a generous, kind-hearted man, full of the Christmas Spirit.
What really makes this movie special to me are the memories of being a child and watching this with my family, drinking hot chocolate and eating popcorn. That was many years ago and times were much simpler back then.

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
Can you provide a brief synopsis of the film?
The Griswalds can never seem to catch a break any other time of year, be it a European vacation or a trip to Wally World. So, why should the Christmas season be any different? Clark the patriarch of the family fastidiously decorates their home with thousands of Christmas lights and giant holiday decorations. He finds the “perfect” tree, which may have been slightly too large for their living room. He invites his in-laws to spend the holiday with his family. It finally seems that they are going to catch a break. Then as each day of the Advent calendar unfolds, so does another calamity.
What makes this movie so special to you?
I love this movie, because even though Clark is bumbling at times, his children can be ungrateful, his wife’s family is abrasive and invasive. They find their way into the true spirit of the Holiday. Regardless of squirrel attacks, crazy senile Aunt’s, crispy turkey, disruptive cousins, and a space launched Santa. It seems that the Griswolds resolve cannot be broken so easily.
Many people may feel like they have had a Griswald year throughout 2020. Many people are dealing with a multitude of their own calamities. So, it is my hope that we can end the year like the Griswalds ended their Christmas vacation. With a strong resolve to carry on, thankful for who we have in our lives, and singing Christmas Carols as a Radioactive Santa flies through the air.

Home Alone
Can you provide a brief synopsis of the film?
The movie is about a kid that gets accidentally left at home while the rest of the family goes off on Christmas vacation. He then has to protect his home from a couple of burglars.
What makes this movie so special to you?
It’s special to me because I remember watching it with my brother when we were young. We thought the house in the movie was huge and we’d create our own drawing of floor plans of what our house would look like if it was that big. And also what traps we’d set up to protect it from burglars. It’s definitely a fun family classic Christmas movie.

What is your favorite holiday movie?
Four Christmases
Can you provide a brief synopsis of the film?
Four Christmases is about a couple who come from dysfunctional families, with divorced parents and obnoxious siblings with out-of-control kids, so they try to avoid their families at Christmas by traveling abroad and pretending to be going there to do charity work. When their plane is delayed and are caught trying to escape their family gatherings, they are forced to face the families they had been avoiding for years. Throughout the movie, the families get more wild and the couple continues to learn more about each other until it brings them closer together in the end.
What makes this movie so special to you?
It's my favorite movie because who can't relate to crazy, dysfunctional families at Christmas time? At the end of the day, you may think your family is a lot to handle, but they are what make life interesting and you end up loving them more for it.
